Enrolment

Enrolment requires an agreement between the families and the Ministry of Education (Section 37)

When considering enrolment, it’s important to understand what both specialist day schools and regular schools offer.

At Waitaha School, we recognise the limitations of being separate from mainstream education for our students. While we are aware of the challenges that segregation can present for our ākonga, we strive to provide both social and academic opportunities to help them grow, thrive, and succeed as they transition out of our kura.

Specialist Education Agreements come with an end date of either 12, 18, or 24 months. Head to our Transitions page for more information on how we support ākonga, whānau, and the local regular school for a successful transition out of our kura.

Our teachers can support regular school staff in strengthening their inclusive practices to best support your tamariki.
